A perfect panoramic photo!
Next photo is of the underpass for the bridge up ahead.
Same underpass, just looking back.
On my way to the top of this tower. We were sent up in a group of 30. Because my travel guide showed a photo of the viewing platform at the top, and it looked small, I went up as fast as possible, taking the stairs as opposed to waiting for the elevator
Into the City Hall complex, this time to climb to the top of the tower for skyline shots of Stockholm.
Entry point just to the left in this photo. Tickets had to be bought in advance for assigned times, 30 to a group.
Waiting to ascend...
The traditional stairs went halfway up, the same point the elevator reached. Thereafter, it was this snaking path which ascended to rest of the way.
At the top of the brick structure. This short stairwell ascened the last of the way. Very musty for this last part of the hike.
Represnetative of how out-of-breath I was at this point.
Looking back.
First picture from the top of the City Hall tower! Looking back to Gamla Stan.
Looking up. The next level up is considerably smaller and the photo in my travel guide showed only a couple of people on it, leading me to think I wouldn't get many quality photos if 30 people were going to be up there.
What the observation area looked like, and my sprint up made me one of the first folks to arrive. To get quality photos one had to hold their camera outside of the bars.
Looking west, up the river.
Panoramic of the northwest view.
The view north, inclusive of the train tracks and Stockholm station.
