Handy LCD display tells the bus/tram number and waiting time until it arrives. The number 7 tram threads a number of the tourist attractions. Those new to Stockholm should consider riding it for one entire loop to learn where things are.
Lunch buffet (11:00 thru 15:00 daily) at The Bamboo Palace for 95 Krona. Worth the visit. Very limited outdoor seating. Interior is moderate upscale.
Nordiska Museum on the left, Vasa Museum on the right.
These buildings are famous symbols of Stortorget, appearing on postcards and refridgerator magnets, etc.
Located on Stortorget, free admission with the Stockholm Card.
And in the same building, but with a separate entrance, is The Swedish Academy--the folks who determine the winners of The Nobel Prize.
Present site of The Nobel Museum. They're searching for a new location to move to within Stockholm, and want to erect a new building for the museum.
Time for some street hiking around Gamla Stan.
Oops! Rushed this one.
A nice, open-square type area toward the south end of Gamla Stan.
A few different stores in Gamla Stan were selling these moose footslippers. I saw them priced anywhere from 88 Krona to 249 Krona. Business card for one store selling them in a later photograph.
City Hall.
The parliament building.
Crossing over to the City Hall, looking back towards Gamla Stan.
Postcard worthy?
